This 6-day program is designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and efficient wilderness trips by canoe on remote lakes, rivers, and ocean environments for extended periods of time. The course begins with two days of moving water instruction, followed by two days running the Gander River, followed by two days of Coastal Canoeing instruction. Canoe Tripping skills will be taught continuously during the 6 days and in all environments. Participants will sleep in tents, cook on open fires, set up and break down camp and travel as a group during trip portions of the course.

Successful participants will recieve Paddle Canada certification in Moving Water Tandem, Canoe Tripping and Coastal Canoeing.

Location: Terra Nova River, Gander River and Bonavista Bay, NL
Prerequisites: Introduction Lake Tandem Canoe or equivalent experience and certification based on the opinion of the course director
Includes: Includes all meals for the course, group equipment, PC certification and course manual. Excludes canoe, tents, personal equipment, and transportation for the course.
